LEED®
(Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design)
A few years ago, one of our project managers who happened to be LEED accredited and had experience working on sustainable projects in the Atlanta area asked to meet with Mr. Greenhut to discuss sustainable construction. This individual suggested that the firm take a leadership role in the Northwest Florida market promoting sustainable building technology and construction. Frankly, Mr. Greenhut was skeptical because he did not believe building owners were ready to accept anything that would further increase their cost in an already inflationary market.
Now, several years later, we realize how insightful this individual was. Greenhut Construction is now actively taking a leadership role in our market promoting and building "Green." In fact, we currently have 8 LEED AP's. Additionally, we have sponsored LEED seminars, educational sessions and played a key role in the formation of our local USGBC Chapter.
We are passionate about sustainable construction, believing that it's not only the right thing to do for our environment, but right for the employee's health, safety, and productivity as well. Having the benefit of building a $125 million LEED Gold construction project for Navy Federal Credit Union in Pensacola, we are knowledgeable in the intricacies of design, construction, and commissioning involved in this process.
We will continue to promote LEED sustainable construction whenever possible through word of mouth, educational events, tours of LEED facilities, and public advocacy.
