One of the best known landmarks in Pensacola, First United Methodist Church needed to expand to accommodate a one of a kind, classic organ which was donated from a church in Naples, Florida. Greenhut was called upon to expand the altar to accommodate this large organ and all of its pipes. In order to create an addition that blended with the existing sanctuary, Greenhut had to carefully remove the large stone blocks on the back of the existing Church, clean and reuse these on the addition. Additionally, all of the work had to be performed and scheduled to allow for the religious services during the week and on weekends. Greenhut also added a new steel and glass entrance and canopy to the Church.

What turned out to be a fun exercise, the funeral home across the street from the church was acquired and Greenhut was asked to renovate this former mortuary into a youth activity center. Today, that building is full of children and teens enjoying the colorful atmosphere and social time together.
