Project Description

Cost: $11,800,000

The new K-5 School for Molino–Barrineau Park was constructed for Escambia County School District. It is a pioneer project for the School District because it was their first major design/build project. This state-of-the-art facility serves the northern part of Escambia County and provides shelter during storms as an enhanced hurricane protection area (EHPA).

The school is an 118,000 sf facility consisting of seven (7) separate buildings constructed of structural steel, block and metal studs. All seven of the buildings have a unique floor plan. The main core of the campus consists of a media center and cafeteria. The other (wing) buildings consist of education space as well as laboratories, workshops, computer labs, and administrative space. Housing 785 students, the school provides segregation of middle and elementary students with a central axis of common use assembly areas.
