Sustainability / BIM

SUSTAINABLE CONSTRUCTION

Greenhut Construction Company adopted Sustainability as one of our firm's major initiatives many years ago.  We continue today to encourage environmental stewardship and green construction practices on all of our projects.  It is not only the right thing to do for the environment, it also increases employee satisfaction, productivity, and conserves energy and other natural resources.  We promote building high performance buildings that are as energy efficient as possible and we utilize the Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) rating system as our tool to monitor and measure our progress toward this goal.

We have proudly completed a number of LEED Gold facilities and have several more under construction.  We have 12 LEED Accredited Professionals and two LEED Green Associates on staff, all of whom participate in continuing education on the various LEED rating systems, new technologies and techniques related to sustainable design and construction.

We understand the elements for successful LEED certification.  It begins with design charettes with the Owner and Architect/Engineering team to determine their level of interest and to work out a specific LEED scorecard as a road map to obtain these results.  Once this goal has been determined, we work closely with the design team to incorporate these concepts, culminating with professional field management to execute the plan in the actual construction process.  Often, we place a LEED Accredited Professional on site to ensure that all the proper documentation is maintained and to insure that all elements of the agreed upon scorecard are met.

We have been a proud member of the US Green Building Council since 2005 and are very active in our local Chapter.  Greenhut has been on the Board of Directors for the local chapter since 2006 and has been a Platinum Sponsor in recent years.

Greenhut has the experience, knowledge and tools to provide our clients with comprehensive sustainable services.

BIM (Building Information Modeling) SERVICES

BIM is a revolutionizing tool in our industry.  BIM is not just a tool for design and 3D visualization.  It can also be used during construction for estimating, site logistic planning, scheduling, scope clarification, as-built documentation, and most notably conflict avoidance.  This spares us and our client from wasted time and money by preventing needless re-work.  BIM is also a valuable tool for our clients that have sophisticated facility management needs.  We have the capability of providing full or partial BIM services on any project.
